SUSTAINABLE CLIFTON

Progress Report

  1. A number of folks have indicated an interest in implementing sustainable practices in Clifton. Our guidelines are the Gaia Education elements and the LEED Neighborhood Development Guidelines. Sign-up, view postings, and make comments at www.sustainableclifton.blogspot.com. This will be a great help in our being able to communicate and document our process. This document and future documents will be posted there as well.
  2. Open-ended meeting space has been secured at Sycamore Manor (corner of Sycamore and N. Jane).
  3. The Council has established a “Sustainable Clifton” Committee with John Baker serving at its chair.
  4. Brian O’Neil has suggested that we begin with a general orientation session prior to scheduling the individual work groups (Worldview, Social, Ecological, Economic). I suggest we have two orientation sessions to accommodate differing schedules. These sessions will be held at Sycamore Manor, 2301 Sycamore Ave., on Wednesday, January 23rd from 6:30PM-8:00PM and Thursday, January 24nd also from 6:30PM-8:00PM. The content of each session will be the repeated so you need only attend one of the two sessions. Email (johnbaker@bellsouth.net) or phone – 893-0477 for comments or questions.
